That’s why FIFA’s announcement last week was so thrilling. Its NFT collection, FIFA Collect, will be relocating from the Algorand blockchain to a completely separate FIFA Blockchain. Still, the announcement was a huge success for collectors, made on April 30 through a FIFA Collect migration FAQ.

The first transition is planned to take place on or after May 20, 2025. NFT holders will be informed by FIFA once the precise date is set.

FIFA Collect is FIFA's official NFT collection. Currently, it operates on the Algorand blockchain.

This migration to the new FIFA Blockchain is to improve how the platform operates as a whole. We’re very excited about this new blockchain and what it has to offer in terms of a better user experience.

This initial migration – one of the largest ever attempted – is expected to take up to 12 hours to complete. We expect to take the platform offline for several hours on deployment day.

Users can read more about the transition in our migration FAQ. The FAQ can be downloaded from the FIFA Collect website.
